The church of St. Allen is in a remote location and although chiefly 15th century, is almost certainly built on the site of a previous Norman. This is evidenced by the base of the current font which is probably Norman. There is also an early english lancet window in the north wall of the chancel.
The present building consists of a chancel, nave of 6 bays, S. aisle S porch and w. tower.
The first church on this site was probably built around the 12thEE lancet window in N wall of the chancel. There is a slate memorial of 1626 to John Martin.
