The church, which is beautifully situated at the mouth of St. Mawes Creek, consists of a chancel, a nave of 6 bays, north and south transepts and a central tower with a low spire.
The nave is largely Norman with a superb South Doorway enriched with a carved 'off-centre' Agnes Dei. Largely rebuilt in 1259 in Early Englidh Style.
Further major restoration was carried out commencing in 1850 by Rev Clement Winstanley Carlyon, rector of St. Just and amateur architect.
There are family memorials in the church to members of the Spry family and other families of nearby Place Manor.
